In the first two months of this year, China's electricity consumption increased by 6.1
Beijing, March 17 (Xinhua) -- According to data released by China's National Energy Administration on the 17th, the total electricity consumption of the whole society in China from January to February 2026 was 16,546 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.1% year-on-year.
In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 22.3 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 7.4% year-on-year. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 10,279 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year, among which: industrial electricity consumption increased by 6.4% year-on-year, and electricity consumption in high-tech and equipment manufacturing industries increased by 10.6% year-on-year. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 3,231 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year, among which: the growth rates of electricity consumption in charging and swapping services and internet data services reached 55.1% and 46.2% respectively. Urban and rural residential electricity consumption was 2,813 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 2.7% year-on-year. (End)
