Yemen’s Houthi forces have said they may block the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
Xinhua News Agency Vladivostok, March 20 (Reporter Sun Ping) According to a report by RIA Novosti on the 20th, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Yemeni Houthi political bureau, said that to support Iran, the organization might block the Strait of Mandeb.
Bukhaiti told RIA Novosti that the Yemeni Houthi forces are considering all possible options to support Iran in resisting military strikes from the United States and Israel. If they have to close the Strait of Mandeb, the Yemeni Houthi forces will only attack ships from countries involved in attacks on Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine.
The Strait of Mandeb is a strait connecting the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, known as the "throat" linking the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Indian Ocean, and is referred to as the "water corridor" connecting the three continents of Europe, Asia, and Africa.
