According to customs data, in December 2023, China's synthetic ammonia imports were 41,200 tonnes, an increase of 2.60 over the same period last year, up 170.75%; an increase of 1.16 over the previous month, up 39.42%; the average price of imports for the month was $619.57 per tonne. The cumulative total of imports for January-December 2023 was 693,000 tonnes, up 461,600 tonnes compared with the same period last year, up 199.54%. 461,600 tonnes, up 199.54% year-on-year.
According to customs data, in December 2023, China's synthetic ammonia exports were 0.42 million tonnes, down 3.30 compared with the same period last year, a year-on-year drop of 88.68%; an increase of 0.01 compared with the previous month, a year-on-year increase of 1.62%; the average price of exports for the month was $729.59 per tonne. 2023 January-December cumulative total exports of 185,300 tonnes, down 52,800 tonnes, down 22% year-on-year. 52,800 tonnes, down 22.16% year-on-year.
In December 2023, China's ammonia imports mainly include Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, accounting for 80% and 20% of the total imports respectively; China's ammonia exports in December mainly include Vietnam and Thailand, accounting for 96% and 2% of the total exports respectively.
