Taizhou Maritime Seizes the Window of Opportunity to Ensure Stable Supply Through Rapid Unloading

Under the influence of Typhoon "Saudel," wind force and wave height along the coastal waters of Yuhuan have continued to increase, drastically compressing the operational window for ships in port. Building on the experience of defending against two typhoons making direct landfall earlier this summer, Taizhou Maritime responded swiftly to the "wind," seizing the opportunity to urgently unload four coal ships and one refrigerated fruit transport ship at Damaiyu Port. Through a closed-loop management approach of "guide the ship upon arrival, unload immediately after docking, and evacuate after unloading," they tightened the supply of key materials and ensured maritime safety down to the last hour.

In this race against wind and waves, the Yuhuan Maritime Office's duty room monitored screens 24/7, issued rolling safety warnings and navigation instructions, and used the smart maritime system to track ship movements in real time. All enforcement personnel were deployed to the front lines, with patrol boats and drones conducting frequent channel inspections and providing on-site guidance to optimize dock operations. A "green channel" was designated for coal ships to ensure that key material vessels could "enter and dock securely." Considering the "urgent freshness" of cold chain ships, maritime personnel coordinated in advance to open a "priority unloading channel" at the dock, guiding the ship's crew to increase the frequency of cabin temperature monitoring and completing the unloading of all fruits before reaching the critical point of spoilage, thereby minimizing losses for businesses.

As of the early hours of August 26, a total of over 220,000 tons of coal had been urgently unloaded from four coal ships, ensuring 15 days of full-load operation for the Huaneng Yuhuan Power Plant and providing strong support for stable regional energy supply. The timely unloading of one refrigerated fruit transport ship successfully saved fresh goods worth over one billion yuan, safeguarding the public's "fruit basket." Currently, Taizhou Maritime has initiated a Level II typhoon response, continuing to implement "one ship, one policy" classified management for ships sheltering in port to ensure the stability of maritime safety in the jurisdiction.
