Yangtze River Estuary South Channel Phase II Project "Builder's Home" Officially Opens

On September 29, the "Home for Builders" of the second phase of the Yangtze River Estuary South Channel Waterway Management Project was officially inaugurated at the Hengsha Base of the Yangtze Estuary Waterway Administration Bureau. This warm haven, which integrates functions such as cultural heritage, project display, learning empowerment, relaxation, and convenience services, is specially built for the engineering builders who work tirelessly at the forefront of rivers and seas all year round.

Stepping into this "home," the 754-square-meter indoor space and over 1,000-square-meter outdoor courtyard gradually unfold: five functional areas including the engineering display area, the cultural area for Party construction and model workers, the relaxation zone, the multi-functional learning and education area, and the convenience service area are arranged in an orderly manner. Facilities such as the reading corner, love-inspired haircut salon, psychological and medical service room, and welfare supermarket are all complete. Among them, the engineering display area, themed "Five Colors of the South Channel, Smooth Yangtze and Sea Together," revolves around the main thread of Party leadership and is divided into sections for safe engineering, innovative engineering, green engineering, and clean engineering. After their work, builders can read a book, get a haircut, or receive psychological adjustment here; they can also stop by the display area to take pride in the achievements of the waterway construction.

The "Home for Builders" of the second phase of the Yangtze River Estuary South Channel Waterway Management Project was jointly constructed and is co-operated by the Yangtze Estuary Waterway Administration Bureau and project construction units such as China Communications Third Harbor Engineering Co., China Communications First Harbor Engineering Co., Yangtze Chongqing Waterway Engineering Bureau, Yangtze Nanjing Waterway Engineering Bureau, and China Communications Shanghai Waterway Bureau. The inauguration of the "Home for Builders" has been widely praised by numerous builders. Adhering to the principles of Party leadership and people-centricity, it aims to "remember, praise, salute, unite, and serve" the builders. With "the protection of home, the inclusiveness of home, and the warmth of home," it allows builders to work with peace of mind and comfort, ensuring that every effort is recognized and every contribution is respected.

According to reports, the second phase of the Yangtze River Estuary South Channel Waterway Management Project is the first major water transport project on the main stem of the Yangtze River during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, with a total investment of 4.45 billion yuan and a total construction period of 4.5 years. Upon completion, the waterway depth will increase from 6 meters to 8 meters, further enhancing the throughput capacity and navigational safety assurance level of the Yangtze River Estuary Waterway.
