The world’s largest piling vessel, “China Railway Bridge Pile Driver No. 1,” has been delivered, marking the achievement of domestic collaborative localization across the entire value chain—from design and construction to operation.
On March 31, the world's tallest piling vessel "Tiejian Bridge Pile 1," designed by Shanghai Jiahao Marine Engineering Research and Design Institute and built by Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. for China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group, was officially delivered in Nantong. This marks the realization of a fully localized "design, construction, and operation" chain in China's ultra-large marine engineering equipment sector, providing strong equipment support for major strategic projects in deep and distant seas.
The "Tiejian Bridge Pile 1" vessel has a total length of 130 meters, a pile frame height of 156 meters, and an operating water depth exceeding 70 meters. It can handle pile foundations with a diameter of 7 meters and a single pile weight of up to 700 tons. It is currently the world's tallest piling vessel in terms of pile frame height, with the largest pile lifting capacity and the deepest operating water depth. It is also the first domestic piling vessel equipped with a dynamic positioning system and three world-class performance indicators.
This vessel can meet the piling operation requirements for international offshore, coastal, sheltered sea areas, and inland river Class A regions, and it has unlimited navigation area dispatch capabilities. In the future, it will be widely used in major engineering projects such as bridge steel casing piles and offshore wind power piles.
