Analysis of China's Phosphate Fertilizer Import and Export Data for December 2023

Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP)

According to customs data, in December 2023, China's MAP export volume was 122,300 tons, a decrease of 1,360 tons compared to the same period last year, down by 10.03% year-on-year; a decrease of 9,620 tons compared to the previous month, down by 44.04% month-on-month. The average export price this month was 627.11 USD/ton. From January to December 2023, the total cumulative export volume was 2,036,300 tons, an increase of 25,400 tons compared to last year, up by 1.26% year-on-year.

In December 2023, China's MAP import volume was 0.00 tons, the same as the previous year; a decrease of 799.88 tons compared to the previous month, down by 100.00% month-on-month. The average export price this month was 0.00 USD/ton. From January to December 2023, the total cumulative import volume was 1,201.07 tons, an increase of 813.16 tons compared to last year, up by 209.63% year-on-year.

The top eight countries for China's MAP exports in December 2023 were Australia, Indonesia, Taiwan (China), Turkey, Chile, Mexico, Malaysia, and Japan, accounting for 43%, 7%, 5%, 5%, 4%, 4%, 4%, and 4% of the total export volume, respectively.

According to customs data, in December 2023, China's DAP export volume was 367,200 tons, an increase of 11,460 tons compared to the same period last year, up by 45.37% year-on-year; a decrease of 24,850 tons compared to the previous month, down by 40.36% month-on-month. The average export price this month was 575.04 USD/ton. From January to December 2023, the total cumulative export volume was 5,036,000 tons, an increase of 145,660 tons compared to last year, up by 40.69% year-on-year.

In December 2023, China's DAP import volume was 200.00 tons, an increase of 199.78 tons compared to the same period last year, up by 90810.00% year-on-year; an increase of 99.45 tons compared to the previous month, up by 98.90% month-on-month. The average import price this month was 804.55 USD/ton. From January to December 2023, the total cumulative import volume was 325.94 tons, a decrease of 2.23 tons compared to last year, down by 0.68% year-on-year.

The top seven countries for China's DAP exports in December 2023 were India, Vietnam, Thailand, , UAE, Japan, and Bangladesh, accounting for 35%, 15%, 12%, 11%, 8%, 5%, and 3% of the total export volume, respectively.
