Analysis of China's Phosphate Fertilizer Import and Export Data in August 2023

Monoammonium Phosphate:

According to customs data, in August 2023, China's export volume of monoammonium phosphate was 322,400 tons, a year-on-year increase of 106%, and a month-on-month increase of 61.52%, with an average export price of 417.85 USD/ton. From January to August 2023, the cumulative export volume was 1,449,100 tons, an increase of 191,400 tons compared to last year, a year-on-year increase of 15.22%.

According to customs data, there were no imports of monoammonium phosphate in China in August 2023; the cumulative import volume from January to August 2023 was 400.84 tons, an increase of 399.33 tons compared to last year, a year-on-year increase of 26,445.7%.

In August 2023, the top six countries to which China exported monoammonium phosphate were Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Turkey, accounting for 54%, 22%, 7%, 4%, 2%, and 2% of the total export volume, respectively.

Diammonium Phosphate:

According to customs data, in August 2023, China's export volume of diammonium phosphate was 329,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 36.52%, and a month-on-month decrease of 35.48%, with an average export price of 440.00 USD/ton. From January to August 2023, the cumulative export volume was 3,250,100 tons, an increase of 1,097,100 tons compared to last year, a year-on-year increase of 50.95%.

According to customs data, in August 2023, China's import volume of diammonium phosphate was 0.21 tons, a year-on-year increase of 40%, with an average export price of 10,509.35 USD/ton. The cumulative import volume from January to August 2023 was approximately 24.55 tons, a decrease of 303.12 tons compared to last year, a year-on-year decrease of 92.51%.

In August 2023, the top seven countries to which China exported diammonium phosphate were India, Vietnam, Singapore, Mexico, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia, accounting for 39%, 14%, 9%, 9%, 8%, 4%, and 4% of the total export volume, respectively.
