Pinglu Canal conducts passenger route navigation drills.

Recently, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Transportation organized relevant airline operating companies to carry out passenger route drills for the Pinglu Canal, ensuring preparations for the opening of the first batch of passenger routes on the Pinglu Canal.

A total of three passenger ships participated in the trial operation of the passenger routes, including the circular route from Xinfuwater Service Area to Pingtang River Estuary, the circular route from Xinfuwater Service Area to Madao Hub, the circular route from Qinzhou Water Service Area to Qingnian Hub, and the circular route from Qinzhou Water Service Area to Longmen Bridge. These are the four passenger routes planned to open on the first day of navigation on the Pinglu Canal. They form an important part of the waterway passenger transport network connecting the canal to the sea, providing passengers with water tourism services to experience the grandeur of this century project up close.

This drill adopted a full-line trial operation with actual ships, strictly adhering to the canal navigation standards and relevant regulations on waterway passenger transport safety management. It sequentially completed all elements and stages of the drill, including ship navigation, docking and undocking operations, ticket sales and security checks, passenger waiting and boarding/disembarking, and emergency escape. During the process, the Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Department of Transportation conducted law enforcement inspections focusing on key aspects such as navigation safety, passenger identity verification, security checks for hazardous items, and ship lock passage declarations, ensuring the drill was conducted in a standardized and orderly manner. Industry experts were specially invited to provide full guidance during the drill, inspecting and evaluating key aspects in detail, offering targeted optimization suggestions on-site, and urging relevant responsible units to promptly improve and rectify issues to ensure all preparations meet operational standards.
