October 2023 Urea Import and Export Data for China
According to customs data, in October 2023, China's urea exports amounted to 561,600 tons, an increase of 21.07 thousand tons compared to the same period last year, marking a year-on-year increase of 60.05%. Compared to the previous month, this represents a decrease of 62.54 thousand tons, or a 52.69% drop month-on-month. The average export price for the month was $369.28 per ton. From January to October 2023, the cumulative export volume totaled 3,395,600 tons, an increase of 1,471,300 tons compared to the same period last year, representing a 76.46% increase year-on-year.
The import volume of urea in China in October 2023 was 23.74 tons, a decrease of 1,709.05 tons compared to the same period last year, representing a 98.63% decrease year-on-year. Compared to the previous month, this is a decrease of 14.05 tons, or a 37.17% drop month-on-month. The average import price for the month was $2,643.85 per ton. From January to October 2023, the cumulative import volume was 2,204.88 tons, a decrease of 1,693.32 tons compared to the same period last year, marking a 43.44% decrease year-on-year.
The top nine countries for China's urea exports in October 2023 were India, Mexico, South Korea, Brazil, Peru, the Philippines, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Nepal. They accounted for the following percentages of the total export volume: 46%, 12%, 9%, 5%, 4%, 3%, 3%, 2%, and 2%, respectively.
