Strengthening water and fertilizer regulation and management, and making all-out efforts to secure a bountiful autumn harvest.

   Currently, it is a crucial period for the formation of autumn grain production and a key period for agricultural flood control and drought resistance. To cope with the complex and severe weather conditions, as well as the frequent occurrence of pests and diseases, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs is vigorously promoting disaster prevention and reduction to ensure a bountiful autumn harvest, making it the overriding task in the field of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. They have initiated a 100-day campaign to ensure a bountiful autumn harvest, with top leaders taking charge, and over 100 officials and 354 experts dispatched to 27 provinces where autumn grain is produced. These teams have gone to the front lines to provide precise guidance on disaster prevention, yield improvement, and autumn grain field management, helping to solve practical difficulties at the grassroots level.

   Addressing some prominent issues in the current autumn grain production, such as weak growth in certain soybean plots with soft stems, potential nutrient deficiency in mid-to-late-stage corn, high pressure from pests during the "two migrations" of rice, continuous northward migration of the corn armyworm, heavy occurrence of pests and diseases in soybean, maize intercropping areas, and the appearance of pests and herbicide damage in certain plots, the Plantation Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, in collaboration with the National Agricultural Technology Center, has formulated seven targeted technical guidelines. They have organized three specialized technical training sessions and carried out two to three rounds of regional concentrated guidance to tackle these issues. They are focused on strengthening water and fertilizer regulation and management, building a robust population, scientifically preventing and controlling pests and diseases, promoting grain filling, and sparing no effort to secure a bountiful autumn harvest.
