In April 2024, domestic urea production reached 5.4703 million tons, down 3.70% month-on-month but up 5.66% year-on-year. Cumulative output from January to April totaled 21.5791 million tons, an 11.06% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Despite short-term equipment maintenance shutdowns, operating rates remained high. Average daily production in April was approximately 182,300 tons, slightly lower than March’s 183,200 tons but higher than last year’s 172,600 tons. The industry’s average operating rate in April was 84.68%, up 0.21% from March and 2.55% year-on-year. The January–April average operating rate stood at 81.85%, significantly higher than 77.32% in the prior year. While mid-month maintenance caused a temporary dip in operations, most production resumed by month-end, keeping overall output stable and above last year’s levels.
