Bohai Bay Port Group Opens First African Break Bulk Cargo Liner Route
Recently, the "Jinhai Xin" vessel docked at the Bohai Bay Port Group Weifang Port Area, fully loaded with goods in ton bags, engineering vehicles, and equipment, totaling over 20 types of cargo, heading to an African port. This marks the official opening of the Bohai Bay Port Group's first African breakbulk cargo route.
It is reported that this route adopts a monthly liner operation model, building a "railway train + truck transport" multimodal transport port system, opening cross-regional cargo supply chains, aggregating ton bag cargo sources from Shanxi, Hebei, and Tianjin, as well as engineering equipment cargo sources from Jiangsu and Tianjin, forming a cross-regional cargo aggregation effect. The Weifang Port Area leverages its terminal operation advantages, continuously optimizes loading and unloading processes, enhances voyage loading efficiency, and expands the integrated service capabilities of yard, loading and unloading, and warehousing.

In the context of deepening China-Africa trade relations and a continuously warming infrastructure market in Africa, demand for building materials and engineering machinery imports in South Africa and North Africa remains strong. The Bohai Bay Port Group intensively cultivates the hinterland industrial chain market, stabilizes the ton bag cargo base, and continuously engages with production and trade enterprises. Meanwhile, it tackles major bulk cargo sources, proactively connects with main engineering machinery manufacturers and foreign trade enterprises, explores new business growth, transforms port logistics advantages into supply chain advantages for manufacturing exports, and facilitates the direct delivery of domestic engineering equipment and building materials to African markets.
