Phoxim Product Introduction
Phoxim is an organophosphorus insecticide with the chemical formula C12H15N2O3PS. It mainly acts as a contact and stomach poison, with no systemic action, and is very effective against lepidopteran larvae. Phoxim has a broad insecticidal spectrum and strong knockdown power. It is unstable to light in the field and decomposes quickly, so it has a short residual period and low residual risk. However, when applied to soil, it has a long residual period, making it suitable for controlling underground pests.
I. Physicochemical Properties
The pure product is a pale yellow oily liquid. m.p. 5～6℃, b.p. 102℃/1.333Pa (with decomposition). Refractive index n20D 1.5405, relative density 1.176 (20℃), vapor pressure about 1.333×10-2Pa. Easily soluble in organic solvents such as benzene, toluene, xylene, alcohols and ketones; >500g/kg in dichloroethane, >600g/kg in isopropanol; has low solubility in petroleum ether; solubility in water at 20℃ is 7mg/L. Stable in acidic and neutral media, but hydrolyzes quickly in alkaline media (half-life of 170 minutes at pH 11.6); decomposes easily at high temperatures and decomposes faster under light.
