Highlights at a glance
Emamectin benzoate is a highly efficient, low-toxicity, semi-synthetic insecticide derived from abamectin B1, offering superior pest control with minimal environmental impact. It exhibits exceptional activity against lepidopteran larvae and other key pests, with both stomach and contact action, effective at very low application rates (0.084–2 g/ha). Compared to abamectin, its potency increases by three orders of magnitude, while posing no harm to beneficial insects, supporting integrated pest management. It is widely used on vegetables, fruit trees, cotton, tobacco, and tea crops, effectively controlling pests like diamondback moth, cotton bollworm, fall armyworm, and Colorado potato beetle. With a broad spectrum, long residual effect, and low resistance risk, it safely replaces highly toxic pesticides. Highly soluble in acetone and methanol but insoluble in hexane, it is nearly non-toxic to humans and animals, leaving no harmful residues. Approved for use on food and cash crops, emamectin benzoate represents an eco-friendly solution for sustainable agriculture.
