Highlights at a glance
Monomehypo is a synthetic analog of nereistoxin that rapidly converts into active metabolites (nereistoxin or dihydronereistoxin) within insects, acting as a competitive acetylcholine inhibitor. It exerts strong contact, stomach, and systemic effects, effectively controlling lepidopteran larvae and other pests like Chilo suppressalis, Tryporyza incertulas, and Cnaphalocrocis medinalis in crops such as rice, sugarcane, vegetables, and fruit trees. With ovicidal activity and low environmental impact, it poses minimal risk to natural enemies and does not induce resistance, making it ideal for integrated pest management. Though highly toxic to silkworms, it has low fish toxicity and is applied via water spray or granules (avoiding waterless paddy fields). Registered in China for rice stem borer control, Monomehypo supports sustainable agriculture through efficient, eco-friendly pest control.
