Pendimethalin Product Introduction

I.Mode of Action:

Pendimethalin is a selective pre-emergence and early post-emergence herbicide for upland soil treatment. Weeds absorb the chemical through their emerging shoots. The chemical entering the plant binds to tubulin, inhibiting cell mitosis, thereby causing weed death.

II.Main Uses:

Pendimethalin is a dinitroaniline herbicide. It inhibits meristematic cell division. It is absorbed by the shoots, stems, and roots of germinating weed seeds and acts thereafter. In dicotyledonous plants, the site of uptake is the hypocotyl; in monocotyledonous plants, it is the shoot. Symptoms of damage are inhibition of shoot and root growth. It can be used in corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton, vegetables, and orchards to control barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli), crabgrass (Digitaria spp.), green foxtail (Setaria viridis), annual bluegrass (Poa annua), lambsquarters (Chenopodium album), pigweed (Amaranthus spp.), etc. For soybean and peanut fields, use 33% EC at 30–45 mL/100 m² (active ingredient 10–15 g/100 m²); for corn fields, use 33% EC at 30 mL/100 m² (active ingredient 10 g/100 m²); for vegetable fields, use 33% EC at 15–22 mL/100 m² (active ingredient 5–7.5 g/100 m²).

Applied pre-emergence to small grains, corn, and rice, or incorporated shallowly pre-emergence in beans, cotton, peanuts, and soybeans.
