Highlights at a glance
Prochloraz is a broad-spectrum fungicide effective against ascomycetes and deuteromycetes, offering both protective and eradicant control in various crops. It inhibits sterol biosynthesis, particularly targeting ergosterol, thereby disrupting fungal cell membrane formation and growth. Widely used in cereals, fruits, vegetables, turf, and ornamentals, it controls diseases like powdery mildew and anthracnose. Applicable via seed treatment (200–400 mg/L), foliar spray (0.3–1.0 kg/ha), or post-harvest dips (250–1000 mg/L), it is compatible with many agrochemicals. Available mainly as 45% EC formulation, its efficacy may be affected by resistance development. With low toxicity and minimal environmental impact, efforts are underway to enhance concentration for improved performance. FDD-Global leverages digital technology to transform the agricultural inputs ecosystem, connecting manufacturers, distributors, and growers for greater transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in modern agriculture.
