Urea Phosphate
I. Product Definition and Chemical Specifications
Urea phosphate is a nitrogen-phosphorus complex salt formed by the chemical reaction of urea and phosphoric acid, with the chemical formula usually written as CO(NH₂)₂·H₃PO₄. It is a high-concentration, fully water-soluble crystalline product. Its main nutrient content is approximately 17% nitrogen (N) and 44% phosphorus pentoxide (P₂O₅), with total nutrients exceeding 60%. It is a physiologically acidic fertilizer.
II. Core Characteristics
High water solubility: High solubility and fast dissolution rate, with a clear solution. It is a top-tier raw material for manufacturing high-quality fully water-soluble fertilizers.
Strong acidity: The pH value of a 1% aqueous solution is usually between 1.5-2.5, making it one of the most acidic fertilizer varieties.
Chlorine-free and low salt: Contains no chloride ions and has a relatively low salt index, which is friendly to the crop root environment.
Chelating effect: Phosphate ions and ammonium ions in its solution have good chelating and stabilizing effects on medium and trace elements such as calcium, magnesium, and iron, preventing precipitation of these elements in the fertilizer solution.
III. Main Application Fields
Core Raw Material for High-End Water-Soluble and Drip Irrigation Fertilizers
Due to its ultra-high water solubility and strong acidity, it is an irreplaceable phosphorus source for producing clear liquid fertilizers and high-phosphorus drip irrigation fertilizers. It can effectively prevent clogging of irrigation systems (especially drippers).
Its acidity helps neutralize the alkalinity of irrigation water, preventing the formation of calcium-magnesium scale in pipelines and drippers.
Efficient Nutrient Source for Crops
Provides quick-acting ammonium nitrogen and water-soluble phosphorus, which can quickly correct crop phosphorus deficiency symptoms and promote root development and flower bud differentiation.
Particularly suitable for crops that need rapid phosphorus and nitrogen supplementation in the seedling stage and early growth stage.
Special Uses
Industrial cleaning agent: Its acidity can be used for metal surface cleaning and rust removal.
Flame retardant raw material: Used in the production of certain types of flame-retardant materials.
pH adjuster: Used in specific chemical processes requiring a strong acid environment.
IV. Usage and Storage Precautions
Application Guidelines
Mainly used as topdressing through irrigation systems (drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation) or as a component of foliar fertilizers (requiring high dilution).
Not suitable for direct use as base fertilizer or hole application, as its strong acidity may burn seeds or seedling roots.
Should be scientifically mixed with other potassium fertilizers and medium-trace element fertilizers according to crop nutrient demand rules.
Safe Operation
Has strong acid corrosiveness. Wear protective gloves, goggles, and clothing during operation to avoid direct skin and eye contact.
Avoid mixing with alkaline substances (such as lime, plant ash), as violent neutralization reactions will occur.
Storage Requirements
Highly hygroscopic and prone to caking. Must be strictly sealed and stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place.
Packaging is usually moisture-proof inner bag + woven bag.
